내가(미국 모라비언 대학 명예교수.정치학 정화열) 알고 있다고 생각했던 유대인이란 인간의 편견에서 양분을 흡수하고 있는 순수한 추성적 사고 속에서의 유대인이었다.
일본 정부는 수천 명의 유대인들을 당시 자신의 관할 하에 있었던 만주로 이송하려는 계획을 갖고 있었다. 이것은 물론 박애정신의 발로에서가 아니라 그들을 이용해 일본이 수행하는 전쟁에 도움을 얻으려는 목적에서였다. 흥미 있게도 그 계획의 이름은 '푸구'(fugu)계획이었다. 실로 영악한 명명이었다. '푸구'란 복어의 일본어로, 일본 고급요리에 사용된다. 복어는 치명적인 독을 가지고 있다. 그래서 조금만 그 독을 먹어도 죽을 수 있다. 지적이라는 (추상적인) 명성을 갖고 있는 유대인들은 '유독하기 때문에' 복어에 비유가 되었다. 하지만 일본인들이 그들을 조심스럽게 또는 적절하게 요리한다면 유대인들은 '맛난 요리'가 될 것이다.
대부분의 보편적 유대인에 대한 초상은 '가난한 사람의 속물근성'일 것이다. 이것이 바로 우리가 유대인은 태어나는 것이 아니라 만들어지는 것이라고 말하는 이유이다. 따라서 사르트르에 따르면 유대인은 유대인으로 존재하지 않을 수 없다. 실로 그들에게는 사회적 탈출구가 존재하지 않는다. 이러한 무서운 난점이 패리아(부랑아) 또는 '불가촉천민'인 유대인들에게 새로운 의미를 더해준다.
상투어, 관용구, 관습적이고 표준회된 표현과 행위 규칙의 고수 등은 우리를 현실로부터 막아주는 ,즉 모든 사건과 사실들이 발생함으로써 일으키게 되는 우리의 생각하는 주의력에 대한 요구를 막아주는 사회적으로 인정된 기능을 갖고 있다.
뉘른베르크 재판과는 다르게 아이히만의 재판은 그가 무엇을 했느냐가 아니라 유대인이 무엇을 겪었느냐를 바탕으로 이룩되었다.

The Fugu Plan or Fugu Plot (河豚計画, Fugu keikaku?) was a scheme created in the 1930s in Imperial Japan, centered around the idea of settling Jewish refugees escaping Nazi-occupied Europe, in Japan’s territories on the Asian mainland, to Japan’s benefit. The Plan was first discussed in 1934, and solidified in 1938 at the Five Ministers’ Conference, but the signing of the Tripartite Pact in 1941 , along with a number of other events, prevented its full implementation.
The plotters believed that the Jews could be quite beneficial to Japan, but also quite dangerous. Therefore, the plan was named after the Japanese delicacy “fugu”, a puffer-fish whose poison can kill if the dish is not prepared exactly correctly.
At its core, the Fugu Plan was a scheme to convince thousands, if not tens of thousands, of Jews to settle in the puppet state of Manchukuo (Manchuria) –or possibly Japan-occupied Shanghai[2]–, thus gaining not only the benefit of the supposed economic prowess of the Jews but also convincing the United States, specifically American Jewry, to grant their favor and investment to Japan. The plan was based on a naive acceptance of European anti-Semitic mythology, as found for example in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
